This is a unique Nagoya obi
with 'karabana'( imaginary Chinese flower) pattern, which is dyed with batik technique.
This marvelous piece by Gekka Minagawa has dynamic karabana pattern against a vibrant background with ice cracked pattern, giving it full of Taisho roman atmosphere.
Colorful pressed foils are sparkling glamorously.
Textile is a kind of chirimen(crepe) silk, and it has soft and slightly textured touch.
It has discolorations and patinas due to its age.
There are blackish stains as the photo A shows.
As the fabric of this part has rather stiff touch, it might be marks of peeled spots of foils.
Although it has sense of aged, its glamorousness cannot be beaten.
It will be enjoyable for sure.
Please enjoy this eye-catchy design full of elegant atmosphere!
