This lovely vintage Maru obi
has fine wave, plover and sasa (bamboo leaf) pattern, which is woven.
It is from around Meiji Period(1868-1912).
Textile is exquisite silk and it's soft.
Folding lines remain, and there are loose threads on tare part as shown on the figure. (refer the 1st flaws photo)
Therefore, the fabric might have become weak due to its old age, and this item seems to be difficult to tie.
Photo A, they seem to be fluffy weft yarns.
Photo B,C are uneven spots of weaving.
