This is an antique katagami, stencil paper for dyeing Edo Komon
Its pattern is exceptionally fine, which was hand carved elaborately.
To dye the long kimono fabric, it is incredible but each pattern of lower part and upper part dovetails precisely.
It was made in Ise district of Mie prefecture, and called Ise-katagami.
It is made of washi, Japanese paper, and dyed with kakishibu.
It has some slight flaws as shown on photos.
