This is an antique futon cover.
The cover is considered to be from early Meiji Period
(1868-1912).
Auspicious motifs of old pine trees, minogame (tortoise)and cranes are dyed with tsutsugaki technique.
Textile is medium thick cotton, which seems to be hand spun and woven.
The whole fabric seems slightly discolored, and also at the middle, there is a prominent discoloration horizontally. There are small flaws as the stains and small holes but the cover is a charming piece.
