This is a graceful vintage maru obi with a beautiful woven pattern of exotic phoenix, alluring kiku (chrysanthemums) and kiku-adorned books.
Textile is silk, and it's soft.

As the figure shows, it has smudges and a folding line made when tied.
About the maegara (front pattern) area, there is a place where warps are blackish (the second photo from the last).
It also has some other flaws including patinas and snags.

The fabric seems to have been weakened over the years.
