This is a beautiful vintage geisha's susohiki.
Susohiki literally means 'trail the skirt' and this particular kimono is much longer than other kimono.
This is worn to do the elegant dance with a folding fan in the Japanese style drawing room.
This piece has a wonderful picture of royal court dyed across the bottom from the left front through the back to the right front.
Jūnihitoe clad ladies can be seen reading scroll a letter far inside the house.
This might be from
Genji-Monogatari.
Textile is soft rinzu silk with damask effect of large mallow pattern.
As the figure shows, prominent smudges can be seen around the sleeve rims.
It also has some other flaws including discoloration, stains and patinas.
The left front has a small hole.
