This is a sophisticated vintage black haori.
Beautiful Kyoto scenery in sakura (cherry blossom) season is dyed across from the left front through the back to the right front.
Famous Kyoto sights including
Yasaka-jinja,
Kiyomizu-dera and
Sanjō Ōhashi can be seen in the pattern.
Textile is silk and has soft touch.
The picture is accented with partial embroidery.
Sleeves and body are gracefully long, which is the feature of kimonos from pre WWII.
The lining has a song part made by Rai Sanyou, a famous writer in late Edo periodˇ¼ˇ£ˇ¼ˇĢ1603-1868).
The black base on the back has discoloration (C).
Also, smudges and dyestuff stains are noticeable on the light colored places of the pattern.
