This is a kimono fabric cut into houmongi shape and stitched roughly before sewing to make houmongi.
Kimono is made of a bolt of cloth which is 14.2" in width.
This elegant piece has flower pattern, which is woven continually in the sedate colored of plum background.
It is also used a special technique, called
tsujigahana (one of the Japanese fabric dyeing technique, which is called phantasmal dyeing), which increases its elegance and seems floating by the light.
Hakkake (lower part of lining) is attached.
Textile is exquisite silk and has soft smooth touch.
Discoloration can be seen overall as shown on figure.
