This is a gorgeous vintage
maru obi with large paper fan and flying crane pattern woven.
The fans are decorated with lush pine branches and kiku (chrysanthemum) flowers.
The golden outlines of the dynamic waves well stand out against its ivory background and adds a luxurious look to this item.
Textile is silk, and it's soft.
It has a stiff lining inside only from the tare end to the otaiko (square bow) area.
The pattern is set upside down, and it's supposed to be tied in a special way called 'hikinuki'.
The colored threads of the pattern is frayed out and gone in some places (B).
It also has a folding line and creases left when tied.
