This is a beautiful Brides'
Furisode from pre WWII.
It comes with a juban.
The
Furisode has a classical pattern of royal carts, 'kaioke' (a hexagonal container to store clam shells, which are used ancient shell matching game - 'kaiawase' ) and folding fan dyed against the black background.
Alluring flowers such as peonies and auspicious
takara (treasure) items also can be seen.
Its hakkake (lower part of lining) also has the pattern dyed, even though it won't be visible when worn.
Bottom is padded, and it is worn with the bottom trailing along the floor.
There are 5 kamon (family crests) remained undyed.
Textile is a kind of crepe silk and has soft touch.
Lapel is hiro-eri (wide lapel).
Its bright red juban has glossy damask effect of 'tatewaku' (waving lines) pattern and elegant flowers.
Textile is silk and has soft touch.
The black base is seriously faded with age.
As for other damages, please refer to the photos and the sheet.
This seems difficult to be worn anymore.
Still this graceful piece can be a striking display!
