This is an enchanting vintage chuya obi.
Beautiful picture scroll, white peony and dynamic ocean waves are dyed.
The scroll has a waterside scenery picture with faux kanoko dotted clouds and pretty sakura (cherry) blossoms.
The pattern is upside down in a place so this piece can be tied in both of the ordinary otaiko (square bow) and 'hikinuki' styles.
Its right side is soft and smooth plain silk.
The backside is lustrous yellow shusu silk.
As shown in photo B, there's a blackish smudged line above the tare end pattern.
However, it can be hidden when tied.
Being old, there are other flaws as well.
Still it would look quite appealing on your favorite vintage kimono.
