This is a vintage black nagoya obi with stunning shishi (lion) pattern finely embroidered.
The pattern is themed from 'shakkyou', a Noh play.
The pattern expresses a scene in which shishi runs across a bridge surrounded with blooming peonies.
Textile is smooth black syusu, and it's soft.
The shusu fabric is remarkably frayed in many places, and the tare end is torn.
It's no longer wearable.
