This is a vintage maru obi with wonderful shokkou-mon with dragon and pattern, which is woven boldly.
Textile is exquisite silk and has soft and comfortable touch.

As the photos and figure show, it has many flaws.
The weft yarn is coming loose because of frays in places.
The tears in the tare are large.
The stains in the wrong side of 'maegara'(front patterned part) are large and outstanding. (B)
It has other flaws.

It is a beautiful maru obi, but it is impossible to tie because of flaws.
It must be a wonderful handicraft material!
