This is a fabulous fukusa from Meiji period(1868-1912) or ending Edo period(1603-1867) .
Juroujin ( one of Seven Lucky Gods ), deer and crane are designed in a large circle.
In the corners, bat and mushroom motifs are placed in the corners and swirl pattern is added in the hems.

Its all pattern is embroidered elaborately with various Japanese embroidery technique.
Eyes of crane and deer are made of glass.

Textile is shusu silk.
Dark brown and black embroidery threads are missing for its dyestuff.
It has some other flaws as photos show. However, as a whole it is in very good condition.
( Black: right side, Red:wrong side)

It is museum class piece!
