This is a stylish vintage sakiori obi.

Sakiori is a traditional Japanese technique of rag weaving.
Rag strips are cut finely and woven into a tweed-like fabric.

The main material of this particular piece seems to be wool and cotton, but silk and jinken (rayon) must be blended.
It has relatively firm touch.

It has chic checkerboard pattern woven.
Its coloring is so tasteful and rarely seen on textiles made with other patterning techniques.

Although it's a vintage item, still it's in very good condition overall.
