This is a rustic vintage sakiori obi.
Sakiori is a traditional Japanese technique of rag weaving.
Rag strips are cut finely and woven into a tweed-like fabric.
The main material of this particular piece seems to be cotton, but wool must be blended.
It has relatively firm touch.
The coloring of its woven pattern is so tasteful and rarely seen on textiles made with other patterning techniques.
As the photos and the sheet show, it has a few holes.
However, as a whole, it's in very good condition.
