This is a chic vintage
irotomesode in deep marine blue.
Checkerboard pattern is finely woven with
urushi coated wefts in its base, and its bottom corners have neat embroidery work of boats floating on graceful stream lines.
Textile is silk and has soft but textured touch because of
urushi coated threads.
The sleeves are gracefully long, which is the feature of kimonos from pre WWII.
Its lapel is bachi-eri(folded lapel).
There are 5 kamon (family crests) remained undyed.
Stitches are partially cut and loosened around the armholes.
There are other flaws such as discoloration on the embroidery threads and the lining.
