This is a sophisticated
nagoya obi with a unique woven pattern of logo stamp marks.
Its pattern is woven with
tsume tsuzure technique.
One threads by one threads, it was woven elaborately with nails, and it had to be taken incredibly long time to be completed. It has special kind of comfortable and stiff touch of
tsume tsuzure silk.
It must have been a favorite of the previous owner since:
Folding line is prominently left from when worn.
Discoloration is spread over the half area which come outside on the belly when worn.
Also, the otaiko (square bow) pattern and the maegara (front pattern) has blackish smudges, and there is a big stain above the tesaki end.
For the details, please refer to the photos and the sheet.
It must be an excellent handicraft material.
