This is a wonderful
tsumugi houmongi.
Pretty ume (plum) blossoms are dyed in bright pink.
The branches of the ume are boldly crossing all the panels.
The pink blossoms seem to be dabbed and look rather blurred.
The thin twigs are traced in white, which suggest this might be dyed with batik technique.
The rough impression by the batik make this even more sophisticated.
Textile is
tsumugi silk and has soft and slightly nubby texture.
Blueish stains can be seen here and there, although they seem of dyestuff (D).
There is a blackish smudge in the back around the waist part, which may come under obi.
For the details, please refer to the photos and the sheet.
As a whole it is in very good condition and it can be worn.
