This is alluring
nagoya obi with charming various motifs - fan, mandarin duck, and 'botan' (peony) which are woven in glittering background.
This is woven amazingly with
tsume tsuzure technique.
One threads by one threads, it was woven elaborately with nails, and it had to be taken incredibly long time to be completed. It has special kind of comfortable and medium touch of
tsume tsuzure silk.
It has rather prominent folding lines and slight stain (photo B) in between 'otaiko'(square bow) and maegara (front patterned part). It also has a slight stain on the tare end.
We don't check in the figure, but maegara part is slightly smudged.
It can't be tied at formal occasions, but it must be excellent handicraft material or interior decor!
