This is a unique vintage juban (undergarment) with several symbolic events of Taisho period (1912-1926) dyed.
Textile is plain silk and has soft and smooth touch.
Scattered about the pictures are stamps of Japanese Post.
Among them, the peace memorial stamp made in Taisho 8 (1919) can be seen.
It was the oldest one in Japan which has dove as a symbol of Peace.
Dove perching on an olive twig is pictured in order to celebrate the end of WWI.
Also, one of the pictures is metropolitan policemen mounted on horses, departing from Tokyo Imperial Palace.
It must be when Emperor Meiji passed away and they guarded him to the funeral hall.
This piece has many flaws such as tears and loosened stitches and is no longer wearable.
Still this wonderful piece well represent Japanese vintage era and will be an enchanting display!
