This is an antique furoshiki with large tabane
noshi motif, which is dyed boldly with
tsutsugaki technique.
Textile is medium thick cotton, and has soft and comfortable touch. It seems to be hand spun and woven cotton in early Meiji period(1868-1912) .
It also has fabulous natural
ai color!
It is machine woven.
It has some flaws as photos show. The discoloration line and the stains in the white parts are rather prominent.
However, as a whole it is in very good condition.
