This is a fabulous summer maru obi from around Taisho Period(1912-1926) .
On the transparent silk textile, it has wonderful thistle motif, which is dyed with elegant touch.
Its design of shading picture is very impressive!
Please enjoy its incredible details with more photos.
Approx 60% of the both sides are patterned, and the rest part is solid blue.
Textile is exquisite silk and has soft and comfortable touch.

Because of its old age, it has some flaws as photos show.
It seems not to be tied often, but there are some patinas and discoloration.
When you tied one side, the prominent patinas and discoloration may be come around otaiko part.
However, another side can be tied.
As a whole it is in very good condition and beautiful piece!
