This is a vintage obi with
tsume tsuzure weaving technique.
One threads by one threads, it was woven elaborately with nails, and it had to be taken incredibly long time to be completed. It has special kind of comfortable and medium touch of
tsume tsuzure silk.
This piece has wonderful maple leaf and 'misu'(bamboo curtain) pattern!
Unfortunately it has many prominent stains, folding line, smudges and discoloration. It can not be tied, and also for handicraft, only small parts can be took.
The wrong side is rather beautiful, but for the handicraft material, the weft yarns end must be arranged.
