This is an antique maru obi with fine woven pattern - ivy and balloon flower motifs are woven elaborately.
Textile is silk and has soft touch.
It has a tear in the hem, stains, smudges, discoloration and frays as photos show. Textile seems not to have enough strength to tie.
It must be an excellent handicraft material!
