This is a vintage chuya obi with a unique wave and swallow pattern, which is dyed.
The pattern is made of dotted lines, and it looks like a mosaic picture.
The reverse side has butterfly and 'genjiko'(ancient Japanese incense game) pattern, which is woven out with 'koukechi' weaving technique.
Textile is silk and has soft touch.
The pattern is set upside down, and it's supposed to be tied in a special way called 'hikinuki'.
Discoloration seems to be spread with age over the right side.
The reverse side has noticeable stains, smudge and a tears.
For the details, please refer to the photos and the sheet.
Still it could be well matched with your favorite vintage kimono.
*The end of tesaki part is made of wrong side fabric, and there is a seam there (C) .
*Approx background color - black
Softness ( Exceptionally Soft,□ Soft, Medium, Comparatively Stiff, Stiff )
