This is an appealing vintage Maru obi.
Golden crane and silvery
phoenix are woven in the octagons of the red 'shokkou-mon' (octagon and rectangle pattern).
Textile is silk and has soft touch.
The pattern is set upside down, and it's supposed to be tied in a special way called 'hikinuki'.
There's no stiff lining inside.
Because of its old age, it has some flaws as photos show.
The base seems a little discolored with age.
Also, there are snags such one shown in the first flaw photo here and there.

Still it could be an attractive display in your room!
