This is a vintage chuya obi with charming 'kaioke' (a hexagonal container to store clam shells, which are used ancient shell matching game - 'kaiawase') pattern, which is woven. Approx 60% of the right side has
kaioke pattern, and the rest part has only orange stripe like pattern.
It is lined with green silk, which has woven 'kusudama'(flowers ball) pattern.
It has some flaws as photos and figure show.
There are tears in the end hems of the lining ( sorry! we only check the tare end, but tears are also in the tesaki end ).
(A) is a small frayed spot.
As a whole it is in very good condition.
