This is an exceptionally graceful vintage
Furisode from around Taisho period(1912-1926).
Big black and red 'misu'(bamboo curtain) are dyed sharply and wonderful dyed patterns such as 'shou-chiku-bai'( auspicious three motifs - pine tree, bamboo and ume blossom ),
phoenix and folding fan give this
Furisode an impressive atmosphere. On left front and shoulders, gorgeous kinkoma embroidery is added. Both wonderful and dramatic design and excellent craftman ship can be enjoyed with this special furisode.
Textile is silk and has soft touch.
The bottom is thickly padded. Pink mon-kinsha(fine crepe silk with damask effect) hiyoku is attached.
It comes with rich red rinzu, silk with damask effect juban.
It has some flaws from old age as the figure shows.
Most prominent stain is (E) on the front however it is probably hide by obi when it is worn. Embroidery on the shoulder is coming loose(F). We consider it is better to be removed. ( It can be fixed however it costs lots)
Some other flaws such as wear on the lapel may be a little disturbing however as a vintage kimono with this wonderful design, they can be acceptable.
For other flaws and details please check photos and the figure.
This is a great piece for wedding!
