This is a vintage
nagoya obi with charming kiku (chrysanthemum) pattern neatly embroidered between the beautiful orange gradation along the side edges.
The Chinese characters of kinkoma embroidery, 'Hana no Utage' means the feast of flowers.
Textile is rinzu, silk with damask effect, and it's soft.
Discoloration and patinas from age is spread over the ivory base and the light colored places of the pattern.
The reddish stain A can be hidden when tied.
