This is a hakata
nagoya obi with elegant 'karabana'( imaginary Chinese flower) and stripe which are woven.
Textile is silk and has touch.
Combination of ivory and purple used in pattern is very elegant.
Textile is silk, and it has comparatively stiff.
It has patinas in places and the ones shown as stain on the figure are also biggish patinas. They are stronger and visible than how they look in photos. Especially the ones around maegara( the patterned part of belt part, which will be the belly part when it is tied ) are rather outstanding.
Unfortunately, it may not be suitable to wear anymore however it can be a wonderful material for handicraft.
*Approx background color - ivory
