This is a
fukuro obi with decorative 'dokyo' (copper mirror) pattern, which is woven with
tsume tsuzure weaving technique.
One threads by one threads, it was woven elaborately with nails, and it had to be taken incredibly long time to be completed. It has special kind of comfortable and medium touch of
tsume tsuzure silk.
You can feel the elaborate and strenuous work of the weaver via the multiple colors and intricate designs of the mirrors.
Unfortunately it is well worn and has rather many flaws such as the prominent folding line and smudges throughout the edges.
The slight discoloration on the ivory base should also be noted.
It's not in wearable condition but still could be a marvelous display!
