This is a vintage nagoya obi with fabulous cherry blossom and wave pattern, which is embroidered gracefully.
Textile is a kind of crepe fabric, which is made of jinken(rayon).

Unfortunately, this piece has many flaws as photos show.
Embroidery threads are coming off both in the otaiko and maegara( the patterned part of belt part, which will be the belly part when it is tied ) part. Embroidery threads of maegara part are missing in some parts.It also has prominent discoloration and some other flaws.
We can't say it is in very good condition, but still charming piece for its wonderful design. It must be an excellent handicraft material or interior decor!
