This is a vintage black
nagoya obi with dear playing kids embroidered along with pretty flowers including sakura (cherry blossoms).
Its contrast of pink colors and blue colors is the very lovely feature of this piece.
Textile is soft and smooth shusu silk.
The maegara (front pattern) has pretty flowers such as a peony, though they became frayed and thin.
As the photos and the sheet show, the white parts of the pattern are discolored, and the side edges about the otaiko (square bow) area and the tare end are frayed.
The kids are really pretty, but, considering the prominent frays on the reverse side, this item might be difficult to be tied.
Please enjoy it as a display or a handicraft material.
