This is a vintage nagoya obi with exotic shishi (lion) jumping over a bridge.
The pattern is elaborately embroidered, and the funny face and the vivid pink color are making this obi a charming piece.
Textile is soft shusu silk of sleek wine red color.
It's lined with a black silk with woven cloud shapes.
As the photos and the sheet show, it has some flaws.
Frays are somewhat spread, especially along the edges and above the otaiko (spare bow) pattern area.
However, as a whole, it's in very good condition.
