This is an antique futon cover with wonderful design - large kamon 'Dakimyoga' is dyed boldly, and peach, 'gunpai'(referee's fan) and cherry blossom are also dyed vividly.
They are dyed with
tsutsugaki technique.
Textile is comparatively thick cotton, and has soft touch. It seems to be hand spun and woven cotton in early Meiji period(1868-1912) .
It is lined with solid
ai dyed cotton.
It has some flaws as photos show. However, as a whole it is in very good condition.
