This is a fabulus black haori from around Taisho period(1912-1925).
This piece has dramatic
Tokaido 53 Stations pattern, which is dyed boldly.
Tokaido 53 Stations is one of the usual motif, but, kimono fan must tell how this piece is
special - its design is very bold and dyeing work is very elborately. Please enjoy its incredible details with more photos.
Textile is rinzu, silk with damask effect, and has soft touch.
Sleeves are gracefully long, which is the feature of kimono from pre WWII.
It has wonderful old fashioned taste of Taisho era.
It has a discoloration spot in the left sleeve front tip. It also has some other slight or small flaws. As a whole it is in very good condition.
We strongly recommend this wonderful haori!
