This is a kimono silk fabric cut into houmongi shape and stitched roughly before sewing to make houmongi. Kimono is made of a bolt of cloth which is 14.2" in width.
This houmongi is from mid Showa period(Showa:1926-1989) and has unique flower pattern, which is dyed. Embroidery is added partly.
Textile is silk, and has soft but slightly textured touch.
It has some stains as photos show. In addition, its background color is slightly discolored all over it.
It must be an excellent material for your handicraft!
*You need a lining fabric to sew houmongi from this fabric. And sewing houmongi is very difficult, and it is a work for professionals.
