This is a vintage Miyako Jofu.
It is hand woven with hand plied choma elaborately!
It has special kind of delicate and stiff touch of asa.
Beautiful stripe is woven and it has beautiful deep natural ai color.
It has couple of stains. In the figure, 'snag' is marked at places - sorry it is not flaws. It is prominent evidence of hand plied asa.
We highly recommend this valuable Miyako Jofu. ( Miyako is the name of island of Okinawa, and Miyako Jofu is one of the most valuable asa textile of Japan).
*In Japanese, 'asa' includes below three kinds of material. You must feel it strange that 'linen' is included.
'Taima' = Hemp
'Karamushi','Choma' = Ramie
'Ama' = Linen
