This is a fabulous ranru, boro.
It was originally made in early Meiji period(1868-1912) as noragi(farmer's work wear) - its main fabric is hand spun and woven stripe pattern cotton, and it is well well worn, and many parts are repaired elaborately.
As a result it has wonderful texture as photos show.
What hard works made it such texuture?!
It is really an UNINTENDED ART!
