This piece is samurai's juban(undergarment) 'Asehajiki'( sweat resist ). It was worn under 'yoroi'(armor).
Textile is very roughly woven hand spun cotton, which has medium touch. Sleeves are made of taima(hemp) and silk lapel is added.
Bodice has bold geometric pattern, which is dyed with beautiful natural ai!
It is from late Edo Period( 1603-1867).
It has some flaws as photos show, but as a whole it is in very good condition.
