This is a fabulous ranru - BORO.
This piece was used as yogi, a kind of futon. It is made of red/blue stripe cotton, and it is well well worn, and many parts are repaired elaborately with shima(stripe), check and other cotton fabrics.
As a result it has wonderful texture as photos show. Both inside and outside have different charm.
Most textiles seem to be hand spun/woven ones, and it is considered to be from early Meiji period(1868-1912).
It is washed and clean, and has soft and comfortable touch.
We highly recommend this wonderful yogi boro!
