This is a charming katazome cotton fabric. It was used as women's hanjuban(half length undergarment), and has cute sparrow motif, which is dyed with katazome(stencile) technique. Its pattern passes through, and both sides have same pattern.
It is from early Meiji period(1868-1912). Textile has soft and comfortable touch - it seems to be hand spun/hand woven cotton.
Its color is beautiful natural ai color.
It has some flaws as photos show, but as a whole it is in very good condition.
