This black nagoya obi has stunning shishi and peony motifs, which are painted(not dyed). This technique is called 'pente', which was the replacement of dyeing when people were poor during/just after WWII.
This piece's picture is exceptionally unique.
Textile is shusu silk.
It has some cracks in the pigment, but as a whole it is in very good condition.
