This is a rare pale orange maru obi from around Taisho period(1912-1925). Wave and 'katawaguruma' ( wheels of royal cart, which are stored in the stream to avoid drying ) motifs are woven boldly.
Textile is exquisite silk, and has very soft touch.
It has frays in the hems and ends, and there are tears in the ends. It has some other flaws as photos show, but as a whole it is in very good condition.
