This is a rare kabuki costume from pre WWII.
It was for heroin, and made as quick-change costume. So the shoulder part is not closed and temporarily it is sewn roughly. It is also reversible, and one side has wheel pattern in the red background, and another side has 'houju'(treasure ball) motif in the white background. Motifs are made of patchwork. Wheel part is made of cotton, but
houju parts are made of silk, and they are missing at places.
It was drawn from lower part, and it could be took off rapidly.
Very rare piece!
