This is a very rare fukusa from around Meiji period(1868-1912).
It has unique circle shape corners, and wonderful
yuzen and embroidery works are done. Misu(bamboo curtain), lobster, chrysanthemum and ball of 'kemari'(ancient Japanese soccer) are dyed. Its theme seems to be 'gosekku'( 5 seasonal festivals).
We are sorry but we seems not to able to convey its supreme embroidery/yuzen work enough by photos - it is way more fantastic than photos!
It has some flaws as photos show, but as a whole it is in very good condition.
