This is an exceptionally rare fukusa from Taisho period(1912-1925) or earlier.
Young soldiers are dyed!
They seem to be relaxed in iris garden and feed carps!
Iris is the usual motif for boy's kimono, it is because 'shoubu'(Japanese name of iris) also has the meaning of 'WIN'. Carp is also used for boy's kimono, because carp is strong enough to climb the waterfall.
Its picture is dyed with very skilled and artistic touch, and some parts are added embroidery. Please enjoy its wonderful details with more photos.
Textile is exquisite silk, and has very soft touch.
It has some flaws as photos show, but as a whole it is in very good condition.
