This men's haori is from pre WWII or during WWII, and has unique war motif - attacking soldiers are dyed vividly. Three soldiers are holding big bomb - they are the famous 'Nikudan-sanyushi'( kamikaze three brave soldiers ), who were the heros of Japanese-Russo War.
Large kanji characters read 'Meiyo'(honor) - it implys 'Honor is more important than survival.
Textiles are jinken(rayon), when the silk was too luxurious because of the war.
It has some flaws as photos show, but as a whole it is in very good condition.
This piece is the excellent piece to know how people was influenced.
