This fukusa is from mid Showa period(Showa:1926-1989) and has wonderful design - kanji character 'kotobuki'(longevity) is woven with pine tree shape!
Its pattern is woven with elaborate tsume tsuzure technique. One threads by one threads, it was woven elaborately with nails, and it had to be taken incredibly long time to be completed. It has special kind of comfortable and comparatively stiff touch of tsume tsuzure silk.
It has some patinas in the wrong side, but as a whole it is nearly in excellent condition.
